An Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Most sweet Jesus, humbly kneeling at Thy feet, we renew the consecration of our family to Thy Divine Heart. Be Thou our King forever! In Thee we have full and entire confidence. May Thy spirit penetrate our thoughts, our desires, our words and our deeds. Bless our undertakings, share in our joys, in our trials, and in our labors. Grant us to know Thee better, to love Thee more, to serve Thee without faltering.

June is the Month of the Sacred Heart, in recognition of Jesus’ apparitions starting in 1673 to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque (1647-1690), a member of the Visitation Sisters, through whom He asked for devotion to His Sacred Heart.

Let us pray

Almighty and everlasting God, look upon the Heart of Thy well-beloved Son and upon the acts of praise and satisfaction which He renders unto Thee in the name of sinners; and do Thou, in Thy great goodness, grant pardon to them who seek Thy mercy, in the name of the same Thy Son, Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with Thee, world without end.

Św. Małgorzacie Marii Alacoque przypadła główna zasługa w rozpowszechnieniu kultu Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa. W piątek 10 czerwca 1675 roku, po oktawie Bożego Ciała, miało miejsce ostatnie objawienie Serca Jezusa „umiłowanej uczennicy”. Jezus zwrócił się wówczas od św. Małgorzaty słowami:
 

„Oto Serce, które tak bardzo umiłowało ludzi, że nie szczędziło niczego aż do zupełnego wyniszczenia się dla okazania im miłości, a w zamian za to doznaje od większości ludzi tylko gorzkiej niewdzięczności, wzgardy, nieuszanowania, lekceważenia, oziębłości i świętokradztw, jakie oddają mu w tym Sakramencie Miłości. Dlatego żądam, aby pierwszy piątek po oktawie Bożego Ciała był odtąd poświęcony jako osobne święto ku czci Mojego Serca i na wynagrodzenie Mi przez komunię i inne praktyki pobożne zniewag, jakich doznaję”.

Oprócz uroczystości NSPJ jest wiele różnych form kultu Jezusowego Serca. Przez cały miesiąc czerwiec odprawiane jest nabożeństwo do Serca Jezusa. „To nabożeństwo jest ostatnim wysiłkiem mojej miłości i będzie dla ludzi jedynym ratunkiem w tych ostatnich czasach” – powiedział Jezus do św. Małgorzaty Marii Alacoque. Jezusowe Serce czcimy w Litanii, jak również przez akt zawierzenia.

Pan Jezus chciał także Godziny Świętej, czyli godzinnej adoracji Najświętszego Sakramentu w noc przed pierwszym piątkiem miesiąca, a także Komunii świętej, ofiarowanej w pierwsze piątki dziewięciu kolejnych miesięcy.

12 obietnic przekazanych  św. Małgorzacie Alacoque przez Pana Jezusa dla czcicieli Jego Najświętszego Serca.

1. Dam im wszystkie łaski potrzebne w ich stanie.
2. Zgoda i pokój będą panowały w ich rodzinach.
3. Będę ich pocieszał we wszystkich ich strapieniach.
4. Będę ich bezpieczną ucieczką za życia, a szczególnie przy śmierci.
5. Wyleję obfite błogosławieństwa na wszystkie ich przedsięwzięcia.
6. Grzesznicy znajdą w mym Sercu źródło nieskończonego miłosierdzia.
7. Dusze oziębłe staną się gorliwymi.
8. Dusze gorliwe dojdą szybko do wysokiej doskonałości.
9. Błogosławić będę domy, w których obraz mego Serca będzie umieszczony i czczony.
10. Kapłanom dam moc kruszenia serc najzatwardzialszych.
11. Imiona tych, co rozszerzać będą to nabożeństwo, będą zapisane w mym Sercu i na zawsze w Nim pozostaną.
12. Przyrzekam w nadmiarze miłosierdzia Serca mojego, że wszechmocna miłość moja udzieli tym wszystkim, którzy komunikować będą w pierwsze piątki przez dziewięć miesięcy z rzędu, łaskę pokuty ostatecznej, że nie umrą w stanie niełaski mojej ani bez sakramentów i że Serce moje stanie się dla nich bezpieczną ucieczką w godzinę śmierci.
